A huge new BMX racetrack will be opening this summer in Cardiff after being approved three years ago. The impressive structure is set to open to the public this July for new and experienced riders to enjoy.
Cardiff BMX Racing Club, a charitable organisation in Cardiff, will be operating the racetrack in Llanrumney on the site of Riverside Park. It will be the first international standard track in Wales and one of only three in the UK with an ‘elite’ 8 metre start hill.
Members of the racing club are excited for the new facility after being without their own place to train for six years. Photos taken last week show the progression of the structure. After being approved by Cardiff Council in 2021, building is aimed to be finished in a few months.
