Cardholders across the country have complained that Visa payments have gone down on Wednesday morning, leaving them unable to make purchases or withdraw cash. DownDetector, the online site that tracks complaints about tech failures, has seen more than 600 complaints about failed Visa payments this morning.
Issues have been reported since 8am, reports The Sun, with reports of problems across the UK and France. People have reported long queues in supermarkets and at ATMs as people have been unable to pay at tills or get their money from machines.
Problems have been reported in Asda and Sainsbury’s as well as at other retailers.
Shops have been putting up signs telling customers they are only able to use cash.”
